I absolutely love scrapbooking. I’ve been creating scrapbooks since my Grandma gave me a Creative Memories album and some stickers in junior high school (I’m not telling you how long ago that was, but even I am shocked at the number if I do the brain gymnastics to calculate it). About a year after my first was born, my Mom told me about a digital scrapbooking website and bought me Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. From there I was quickly hooked. I began with photo editing and trying neat effects on my photos, then I learned about color correction and that opened new doors. From there I quickly discovered digital elements and tutorials and the rest is history. Now I don’t have as much time to scrap as I once did and I’m perpetually behind, but I still love the process of putting my photos on “paper”, printing them, and putting them in albums (or stacking them up for future album making – I procrastinate on occasion. OK, maybe I procrastinate a LOT.) Anyway, that’s the short version of how I became a digital scrapbooker. And I think everyone should give it a try. If you’re looking for a way to start, all you need is the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements and a good website with lots of freebies, an amazing store with lots of amazing kit designers, abundant tutorials, and friendly people to help you when you’re stuck. In my opinion, the best place online is Designer Digitals for all of the above. There are other software programs out there, but in my opinion, Adobe gives you the most flexibility to do other things while you’re at it. Bang for your buck, that’s what it’s all about.
